Throughout the two decades of her career, Patricia DeLeon has been making evocative artworks that explore the symbolic and poetic possibilities of the landscape and the figure. With richly, colored layers of mixed media, she creates an immersive visual experience that breathes life into lived & imagined worlds.

"I find inspiration in travel and, particularly, in walking & hiking in nature. Every year I undertake a pilgrimage to deepen my connection to self & community during which I sketch & draw. Upon returning to my studio I create works which speak to my experiences through layered paintings that hover between abstraction & representation; showing how it felt to be there. I work on sculpted birch with fluid layers of inks, acrylics with accents in gold and silver leaf."

"My deepest wish for the work is for it to invite the viewer to pause; to reflect on or connect with nature and their deeper selves."
